How quickly can we start?
At Senior Options Homecare we understand that circumstances arise where you or a loved one may require same day homecare services. We work hard for our clients and will do all we can to ensure that your specific needs our met. If we have the staff, we can be at your home or care facility providing care the same day you call.
How do you schedule hours for care?
A Senior Options Homecare Manager will come to the home and conduct an assessment. At this time, the client, family members and / or significant others will determine the initial care plan. The original care plan is then adjusted based on the changing needs of the client.
What is the cost?
The cost varies for our homecare services dependent on what the specific needs are of our client. Clients that require only 3-4 hours of care per day will have a rate that varies from those clients who require a live-in caregiver 24/7. If you call our office 616.942.5380 we can give you an accurate estimate for your situation. One advantage of home health care rests in its flexibility. You may just need several hours of care a day, not the 24-hour supervision of a residential facility. With home care, you pay only for the amount of care you actually need, and then receive that care on a one-to-one basis. This flexibility allows you to tailor the health services perfectly to fit your needs and schedule.
How are we billed by Senior Options?
Our billing department works hard to accommodate the financial payment agreement that is most comfortable for your individual circumstance. Billing or payment questions can be directed to our corporate office at 616.942.5380.
What is Respite Care?
Respite care is short-term, temporary care provided by a Senior Options caregiver providing families with a necessary break from the stress of daily care-giving tasks. Respite care can be for a few hours, overnight, or for several days at a time. The amount of care can change with the needs of the family and the client.
How Do I Start Services?
By Contacting Us today. We will have our staff come to your home and conduct a free, no obligation assessment. We will then, at your direction, identify caregivers who have the skills, personality and availability to assist you. You then will be able to meet the caregiver and if you approve, they will begin working for you.
Can I use your service just one time?
Yes, we offer respite care services for families that need a day, night, weekend, or week off.
How many caregivers will be assigned to my case?
Senior Options Homecare strives to maintain a continuity of care for our clients, as much as possible. Caregivers are scheduled up to a maximum of 12 hour shifts and will then rotate with other caregivers dependent on the level of need.
What if I don't like the caregiver assigned to my home?
We recommend that you give your caregiver a few days or weeks to learn your specific needs and "ways of wanting things done." However, if there is truly a personality conflict, we will gladly replace your caregiver with one that is a better fit.
Can we cancel the service?
Yes, you have the right to cancel your service at any time. Typically, our services are suspended or put on hold, during a hospitalization or rehab stay, or for a vacation.
We also service Sun Birds. Clients that head south during the cold Michigan winters usually call us 2 - 3 weeks before their scheduled return to Michigan to re-start their homecare services.
Does Senior Options Homecare accept Medicare?
No, Senior Options Homecare is not a Medicare certified agency.
Does Senior Options Homecare accept Insurance cases?
Yes, however acceptance depends on the specific insurance carrier requirements.
We work with many insurances that offer in-home health care programs.
Please call our corporate office to discuss your unique needs.
Do you provide services in assisted living facilities?
Yes. People sometimes discover that the assistance provided in an assisted living facility is not enough to enable them to remain independent. In these cases, Senior Options Homecare provides a person to make this possible.
